- Jesse Futerman - Fuse The Witches (Snippets)
[Flash 9 is required to listen to audio.]

I’m looking forward to this.

Artist: Jesse Futerman
Title: Fuse The Witches EP
Format: Digital Download
Artwork: Alice Dufay
Mastering: Moonstarr
Cat No.: JLMDE009

Following on from Jesse Futerman’s debut EP, Super Basement, last year, he’s now back with Fuse The Witches - a 7-track EP that builds further upon his distinctive jazz-breaks sound.

Having already received high praise from the likes of Gilles Peterson, OkayPlayer, 3hive, Potholes In My Blog, Pinboard Blog, and a slew of other high profile DJs, publications and blogs, Jesse Futerman shows no signs of slowing down!

In his own words; “With Fuse The Witches I am attempting to keep the sound of Super Basement while creating a more varied listening experience; I’ve sampled from a wider array of sources such as records from my father’s collection as well as numerous film soundtracks. Despite this, I think I’ve managed to retain a strong jazzy sound while perhaps creating a more cohesive release overall. I’d like to thank my family, friends, and collaborators, without whom my music would not exist, as well my label manager Gavin for always believing in me and giving me a platform from which to reach you. I hope you enjoy listening to this EP as much as I enjoyed making it. Let’s not forget the Stine Supreme…”

Congo Natty - Live Jungle Showcase - Dec 2010

Alright alright alright, this’ll be the last jungle-oriented post for a while. I’m almost ready for a break from fast tunes punctuated by unintelligible yelling. Almost.

Papa San - Give Her the Credit

I managed to snag an original 7” of this! In mint condition! You should see my smile right now!

The Lonely Island - Ras Trent

In honour of my 350th post and all the Jamaican things I’ve been posting… RAS TRENT!

Jah bless.

The Bug vs. Soundmurderer - Peel Session, BBC, November 2003

WOW! How have I never heard this?

A soundclash between The Bug and Soundmurderer on John Peel’s radio show!

(If you have no idea about soundclashes or their relation to Jungle music, read this post from April 2011

It starts out a little goofy—The Bug’s MC shouting “BABYLON AH BABYLON AH BABYLON A WAR” gets a little repetitive—but around 5 minutes into the mix, Soundmurderer responds, and we get hit by a little niceness courtesy of a David Rodigan vocal sample in his and Sk1’s track Search & Destroy.

Also, Warrior Queen makes an appearance and does some live MCing.

Enjoy!!

I feel like Ali G when I brock out to this, but that’s alright. Chune.
